Short Thoughts…

Some classic versions of the Strength card depict Heracles (Hercules in Roman myth) wrestling the Nemean Lion, his first of Twelve Labors. His mission is to collect the skin of the lion as ordered by the king.

Often you’ll see his iconic wooden club in hand or seen somewhere else within the artwork. In the last card you’ll see Heracles not wrestling a lion but instead wearing the skin of one. Here he fights Hydra who he’s tasked to kill as part of his second labor.
